American Hero Themed Crafts

Post on Sep 3rd 2008

Many kids are now fascinated with what some call the American Hero. This refers to the men and women that are fighting in the army as we speak. Children, as well as adults, think that what these people are doing is remarkable. They respect the valor of the American Heroes, and want to be just like them. Because of this, it can be a good idea to let your kids to crafts centered on this theme. It gets them educated about the military as well as lets me use their creativity and their imagination.

The main theme that goes with an American Hero is the camouflage. In this respect, you can have a lot of crafts centered on this fact. For example, if you have a sewing machine and your child is interested in learning the art of it, you can help them with a craft that uses camouflage fabric. You both could make pillows, pajamas, or placemats; whatever strikes their fancy.

Another way to appreciate the American Hero is to make postcards and letters to send to the troops. This is a really fun and productive project for your little ones. If they write the letters themselves, this will be a real pick-me-up for whatever soldier gets the letter. Let them be creative as they want to be with this project. Coloring and drawing pictures is a great idea for it and the soldiers are sure to love it and appreciate it. These are some really great ways that your children can do some American Hero themed crafts.
