I have been working online since 1995 and have did many different ways of marketing. Pay Per click
was one way I created traffic to my website.

Now video post marketing is the way I create most of my website traffic. If you are not posting
video to market online you are missing the punch With your online marketing campaign. With pay per
click you can lose a lot of money if you just jump in and not learn how it all really works.
Believe me, I did it the wrong way an I lost a lot of money.

Lets say you have $100.00 to spend on pay per click. So you set up a pay per click account and
start paying for every time some one clicks on your ad. The next day you login to your account to
find out the $100.00 is all gone, spent in the last 24 hours. But you did not make any sells on
your website. Now What?

Either you put more money in your account or maybe learn video post marketing like I did.

If you would have told me one year ago that I would be posting video to market my products online I
would have laughed at you. I had no clue how to operate my wifes digital camera much less post a
video. I did my first video surfing at youtube Jan. 27, 2007. Now less than 6 months time I have
posted over 70 video’s to youtube and 37 other video hosting sites with one template.

Now I don’t have to use my money for pay per click. I post a video and in many cases I have had
first page results in Google, less than 24 hours. The best part is every time some one clicks on my
video that I posted does not cost me anything.

Here are 5 tips to get you started in branding your Web-based business:

Tip #1: Make your value proposition abundantly obvious: People are extremely click-happy today: here one minute, gone the next. Important! Make sure that new visitors to your Web site have a general idea of what product or service your company offers within 10 seconds of landing on your home page. Spell it out, draw them a picture, do whatever it takes. But, make sure they know the value you offer and whom you are targeting. This is a cornerstone of good branding.

Tip #2: Easy site navigation is paramount: With all of the excellent programming languages and software tricks available now, many Web site designers like to focus on form over function. Bzzzzz - wrong approach. The guiding rule in designing your site should be whether someone can easily get around your site and find what they want. Coming in second should be how good the site looks. (Looks are important, but function is king). Otherwise, it will reflect poorly on your brand.

Tip #3: Be sure your online logo works in all media: Even if you have a Web-based business, it is likely that you will be using your logo in other media in the future: on business cards, signs, flyers, etc. When designing your logo, be sure that it is one that can be reproduced easily in multiple media. If you are not sure, ask a professional graphic designer for her opinion. Good branding means being consistent in all customer-facing materials.

Tip #4: Make it easy to contact a real-live person: Your Web site should have a clear ‘Contact Us’ or similar call to action on every page. This functions like an escape button, so that if the customer is not finding the content they need at that moment they can click there rather than just giving up and leaving your site for good.

Tip #5: Aim for high-level customer experience: A good brand means not only logos and messaging, it is also reflected in the quality of experience that a customer has when they visit your Web site. As good as Web site technology is today, it is still far from perfect. Undoubtedly we collectively have a long way to go before Web sites are truly user-friendly. Until that day comes, put every resource you can into making sure that visitors enjoy your site, are comfortable there, and can find what they want fast. Your Web site might be their first or only impression of your company. Make it a good one!

By now, the term “Bum Marketing” is probably pretty old to most of you. Oddly, very few people really understand what Bum Marketing is and how to truly get the most out of the process. This article is going to show you the basics of what you’ll need to know when it comes to Bum Marketing and how to turn it into a steady income stream that builds over time.

Bum Marketing is simply a term coined by Travis Sago for article marketing. What that is, is simply the process of writing articles, submitting them to article directories and getting people to check out your web site by ultimately directing them to the resource box and link in your signature. The better your article is and the stronger your call to action is, the more chance you have of getting people to your site. But this is just the beginning of Bum Marketing. There really is more to it.

For starters, you need to concentrate on niches that don’t have a ton of competition. That is the essence of Bum Marketing, focusing on areas that you have the best chance of making a profit in. To do this, there are several steps that we need to take in order to find the most profitable niches with the least amount of competition.

The first step is to go to your favorite keyword tool (I use the free version of Wordtracker) and look up the main keyword of the niche that you want to tackle, say “music” and then take a look at all the related keywords to that niche. Ultimately, what you’re going to find is that as you go down the list, there are going to be keywords like “children’s music” that don’t have a lot of daily searches but also don’t have a lot of competition. How do you find this out? That is the next step.

The next step is to go to Google and look up the keyword phrase that you’ve found to see how many competing sites there are. If you find that there are less than 50,000 competing sites for that keyword phrase, then you have most likely found a niche that you can crack. Once you’ve done that, the next step is to find a product that you can sell that fills a need in that niche, or create your own product, and then put it up on your web site for sale.

The final step is to begin writing articles for that niche and submit them to as many article directories as you can. Over the course of time, you will find that people will read these articles and start coming to your site. This will eventually translate into sales for your product.

And that is all there is to Bum Marketing. By the way, it’s called Bum Marketing because even a bum with no visible means of support can do this simply because it requires no capital outlay.

Bum Marketing can be very effective if done correctly.

When writing the article itself, follow a few simple guidelines. Don’t write in the third person narrative. Write the article as if you were directly talking to the reader. This makes it more personable, and will allow you to build a strong relationship with the reader. Give yourself credit when it’s due, if you’ve accomplished something that is worth mentioning, do it. You’ll want to create a positive image for yourself in the minds of the reader, you want their trust.

Always be sure to double check the links in your resource box. There’s nothing worse than getting a great article out there only to find out that the HTML was coded wrong so the link is broken.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “feed a man a fish and you can feed him for a day, but if you teach a man how to fish you can feed him for a lifetime”

Now before you say “Daniel I know where your going with this”, just keep reading…

A rewording of that phrase will make it easier for me to explain this concept.

“If you sell a man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach a man how to fish, you can sell him bait and hooks for a lifetime.” I see many marketers making there products and services, but the problem is they focus on selling the fish.

“Daniel enough of that poetic crap, what the hell
are you talking about”

Why sell a book on “how to make money blogging” when you can give that information away for free.
Tell everybody you can how to make money blogging.

You pack it with great information. Tell them step by step. The only thing you left out is how to drive traffic to your blog. None of your methods will work if they don’t know how to drive traffic right? That’s why you are selling a book on “how to generate traffic to your blog”.

See they have no choice, but to buy your book. Then you keep releasing new traffic methods, that they will keep buying because more traffic = more money.

Are you getting it?

“So Daniel you’re basically saying give something free and get money on the backend”

NO! What I’m showing you is a concept that can be applied to more than just in the example above. Here is another example.

You know how to do great niche research and find very profitable keywords.

You don’t sell that information. You’ve give it to them for free. Then you have your software designer design software that finds how many times a keyword as been searched such as “Good keywords” and how many search results get returned.

Do you see what you did? You tell them how to find niches and how finding profitable niches is the key to success. But the key is they can’t find profitable niches without your keyword tool.

“But, Daniel there are lots of keyword tools already”

Forget the keyword tool. Focus on the concept. You can apply that to almost any business you’re building.

Teach them “HOW” to do something for free. Then just sell them the tools needed to do it.

There you have it. Hopefully that opened your eyes to a few new business ideas.
