Where To Find DVD Wholesale Distributors

Post on Aug 28th 2008

In many entrepreneurial wholesale minds, its obvious- we want to keep updated on the newest and most recent sources for getting DVD wholesale distributors, immediately. The fact is that today while thousands of businesses are starting online every single day, few of them see the potential of selling DVD both in singles and in bulk. In my experience and strongest fact, selling DVDs on the Internet is one of the most exciting and thriving businesses you can have on the Internet when it comes to wholesale. I have sold more than a thousand dollars in a single 24hrs and thousands and thousands more in the coming weeks after it. It is exciting.

You get to be the sole owner of your own Internet marketing store and your have your own mini-empire without disturbing a fortune 500 company offline. It is tremendous, the profits are incredible and you get to play the game of money without actually having to much capital at start. I did it at the beginning and you can do it right now if you are equipped with the correct sources. That is what I want to tell you about.

Right now on the Internet there are a bunch of DVD wholesale distributors being marketed as wholesale. To tell you the hard to swallow truth, most of them are not real wholesaler or distributor- probability being, you have probably bough many scams without even knowing about. That is ok, it happens when we start if you are one of them. I was one of them too. I got scammed up to my eyeballs without having a clue at the beginning of my wholesale quest ventures. It all came to education, knowledge and testing. While at the beginning it was rough as I was selling all the wholesale sources on the Internet to improve my past and present moment retail store online, I was not finding much- just a numerous amount of middleman commission artist that wanted to present themselves as distributors and liquidation centers when they were actually intermediaries fighting for a commission buck. It was pathetic- I was getting frustrated on getting everything I wanted with wholesale at the moment whether it was on the DVD business, audio wholesale niche or video games niche, it was hard at such moments. Years later and thousands of hours after, it paid off. Persistence paid did. But it cost me too much time.

While I am still young, I have been making a very comfortable and seducing income from online retail stores since the early 2005, most of it being attributed to selling DVDs and having the right wholesale sources. I encourage you to be part of the wholesale business. Better yet, if you want to become a power seller on auction giants like eBay and online stores, I encourage you to look for more information. Wishing you the best of success over here.

Thinking Partnership - Think Again

Post on Aug 28th 2008

Starting a business with one or more partners even based on a written Partnership Agreement may be the worst possible ways to structure a business. Its certainly the least desirable, and possibly the most financially dangerous. There are more advantageous forms your business can take, among them two types of corporations, plus something called a Limited Liability Company of LLC.

To set the record straight, Im certainly not an attorney, nor am I in the business of dispensing legal advice. But as someone whos been involved in and burned by a couple of partnership ventures gone sour, I do have opinions. Id like to share those with you here if youll let me.

Most would-be partners see themselves going into business with friends or family members. Many times those involved have known each other for years. But knowing someone for a long time is not the same as knowing them well. At least not well enough to become partners with them. But thats only the first drawback.

Drawback #2: Many would-be partners believe they can put a deal together with little more than a verbal agreement and a hand shake. Wrong! The only safe way to do it, if do it you must, is with a detailed written Partnership Agreement. One drawn up by an impartial attorney all partners agree on.

Drawback #3: Even before you get to that point, you should know that partners can be held jointly and severably liable for the obligations of the partnership. Simply put, that means either or all of you may be liable for all the liabilities of your business. Everything from accounts payable to judgments against the business, including obligations for which you as an individual may not be responsible at all.

That could wipe out some or all of the personal assets of each of the partners. But let me paint you a worse case scenario. Drawback #4: Partner A has only modest means, a simple home and car, along with a spouse and children. Partner B is extremely wealthy. Large home, fancy car, summer place, stocks, bonds, IRAs, the works.

Their business goes belly up for some reason, leaving behind huge financial liabilities and other obligations. Creditors take the partners to court in an effort to collect. A multi-million dollar judgment is rendered in favor of the creditors, and the court lays claim to the assets of the partners.

Partner A can lose his simple home and car, but once their gone he has nothing more the court can lay claim to. So they turn to Partner B to collect the balance of that multi-million dollar judgment. And to satisfy that judgment the court sells off his large home, fancy car, summer place, stocks, bonds, etc.

They might have been equal partners, but theres nothing equal about what they stand to lose. If only because partners can be held personally liable for the obligations of their business jointly and severably, meaning individually and collectively I suggest you think long and hard before becoming involved in a partnership arrangement, even one spelled out in writing.

But why bother with a partnership at all when becoming a corporation or starting an LLC can spell out equally well the terms of the business arrangement, and at the same time significantly reduce or eliminate the aspect of personal liability altogether? Its certainly something worth thinking long and hard about.

In Business, Sometimes Two’s A Crowd!

Post on Aug 28th 2008

There are some small businesspeople that should remain small, forever.

I dont mean that they shouldnt be profitable, wildly so, if possible. That would be great, and power to them if they can figure out how to do it, while remaining small.

I mean that by dint of temperament, or based on the inherent nature of their occupation, they simply shouldnt try to have a large staff.

For instance, much of what I do involves writing and public speaking, which are solitary activities. I can teach people to improve their skills in these areas, and I do this professionally, for other companies.

But I recognize, in all practicality, I cant clone much of what I do, inside of my own company, and delegate my critical duties to others.

For example, I have set a goal of writing hundreds of articles, and posting them on the Internet through ezines. Im well underway, and soon Ill reach this target.

But, no one else can write my articles for me. Oh, sure, there are P.R. firms that can try, but theyd be expensive and take forever to achieve the task. Moreover, I dont think its ethical to put my byline on somebody elses output.

When I was first starting out as a consultant, the director of continuing education at a midwestern university told me, Youre going to have to choose whether you want to be a four-star restaurant, or be McDonalds.

He missed something. He should have included being a one-cart hot-dog vendor.

Thats a viable business for many people. Plus, theyre not answering to anybody above them, or below them.

Carls, Jr., is a chain, like McDonalds. It sells hamburgers, fries, and the like. And Carl Karcher, its founder, was precisely a one-cart hot-dog vendor, when he struck out on his own.

Obviously, he made it big, but he could have made it small, if he had so chosen.

And for some, that is the better, happier choice, and theres nothing wrong with either!

I Want to Start a Tractor and Steam Cleaning Business

Post on Aug 27th 2008

Many companies in the pressure washer industry will clean heavy equipment, but they don’t often specialize in it, as it is quite hard work. But if you start a business, which purely specializes in tractor and equipment steam cleaning you might be surprised as to how much work there really is. And because the work is hard work and you get very greasy while doing it many pressure washer contractors will not choose to do this type of work. That means there’s less competition for everyone else.

Most steam cleaning and high-pressure hot water cleaning companies would much rather clean concrete, truck fleets and other things such as buildings and parking structures. The work is less tedious, less wear and tear on the equipment and the employees do not get as dirty and complain.

There are many types of tractors to clean for instance a farmer might have agricultural equipment and they definitely need to be cleaned and coated or treated with special solutions so they do not rust in the off-season. Then there is construction type equipment, which must also be cleaned. This makes it easier for welders to weld on new blades on scrapers or hydraulic technicians to work on all the hydraulics that run the mechanisms and PTO attachments. Also tractors much the cleaned for the mobile lube companies so they can lube tractors or put on new tires.

There is lots of business to be had in cleaning tractors and in the steam cleaning business and it is a very lucrative business with high billing hours. Perhaps you might consider this is part of your next business. Think of us in 2006.

Small Business Loans Can Take Businesses to The Next Level

Post on Aug 27th 2008

Getting a small business loan is a big deal to a small business. It can mean the difference between being able to continue operations or have to shut down, or it can provide the necessary funding for a successful small business to grow or expand to the next level. A small business loan can also help a business overcome temporary market conditions and help it weather the storm until calmer conditions come back again.

A few important things that every small business owner should know about a small business loan. First of all it is not normally possible to get a small business loan from a bank or credit union in the first two years of operation. Thats because the failure rate for small businesses is greatest during this period and unless a business can provide security guarantees in the form of cash or property a small business loan may not be the best place to seek financing for the blossoming enterprise.

Secondly the bank or lending institution is much more vigilant about granting a small business loan than it is with other forms of credit like car loans or mortgages. Thats because they have little to seize if there is a default on a small business loan since almost all of its capital resources have already been allocated to make the business survive. They have a double set of criteria that a small business must meet in order to get a small loan, the ability to pay or repay and the creditworthiness of the business itself.

Thirdly, the bank wants to not only know that the business is or can be successful before they hand over a small business loan. They also examine the personal financial situation of the principals or owners of the enterprise to ensure that their credit record is both established and free from any unfortunate circumstances like previous bankruptcies or defaults on previous loans, personal or professional.

Once theses hurdles have been overcome, the banks, credit unions and other financial institutions are more than happy to offer assistance to their small business neighbors in the form of a small business loan or business line of credit. They also realize that successful businesses generate revenues and they want to ensure that the small business continue to take advantage of their services as their businesses grow and prosper.

Applying for a small business loan can be a nerve racking experience for even the best small business owner, but if you do your homework and make a solid business case then theres nothing really to be afraid of. You simply do your best and follow the process and then like a hundred of other aspects of small business life you wait and hope for a positive solution to just another small business problem.

This Will Save You from Business Failure

Post on Aug 26th 2008

“67% of New Businesses Fail in the first 5 Years”

We have all heard this statistic, or variations on it before. It’s quite a scary fact when you consider the implications, especially if you have started or are about to start a new business.

But the bad news does not end there:

A further 22% of Businesses Fail in the second 5 years

So even if you manage to survive the first 5 years, the odds are still against you continuing your business past the 10 year mark.

So what is the cause for such a high rate of failure in new businesses?

Lack of research into the market? Negligent business owners? Lack of funding? Changing market conditions? Staffing Issues? Or just plain Bad Luck?

All of these things contribute to the problem in some way. I dont think that any of them are the primary cause. Not one of them would be involved in every case. A more in-depth study would reveal that a more fundamental problem is responsible.

Businesses are generally started and run by people with quite a lot of hands on experience with the work of the business. Quite often they have spent 5, 10 or even 20 years working in the industry. You would think that this experience would allow them to be successful with their own businesses.

Only 10% of new Franchises Fail in the first 5 years

Interesting! So maybe we can work out why small businesses fail by looking at why Franchises succeed. What is it that (Business Format) Franchises have in place that allows them to boast such improved survival rates.

Under a Business Format Franchise the franchisor grants the franchisee a licence to operate as an ongoing business. The agreement allows the franchisee to trade under the name of the franchisor. They are given access to an entire package, comprising all the elements necessary to teach a previously untrained person how to run the business.

The Business Format Franchise establishes an integrated system of doing business that includes:

A proven system for successful operation of the business. Initial and ongoing training in the operations of the business. Ongoing Assistance with marketing, business and technical operation of the business.

Its all about Business Systems

So the difference is that a Business Format Franchise supplies their new operators and staff with well defined tested and documented Business Systems. A turnkey way of running the business, turn the key and it works, every time, exactly the way you expected.

The new Franchise operator has the Business Systems in place from day one to run their business. They have the documentation allowing them to rapidly train their staff. They also have a management and reporting structure allowing them to track the Key Indicators in their business.

What do you need to do to ensure you dont become a Statistic?

To ensure that you survive and are one of the successful businesses you need to develop your business by modelling the Business Format Franchise.

Develop Business Systems that describe and document exactly what needs to be done to run your business.

Train your Employees in the operation of your Business Systems. Design your Organizational Structure to allow you to measure monitor, track and control your business.

Keep Them Coming Back

Post on Aug 26th 2008

Keeping the wheels of progress turning for your business often involves finding new customers and new markets to engage. A wide variety of means exist in getting your message before these new faces. Never forget though that youve got someone who already knows you and likes what you doyour current customers.

Often times business overlook their current customers and focus on finding new ones. Just because a customer has previously ordered from you though doesnt mean that you should not continue to give some attention to them. Consider the advantages of keeping communications going between your company and previous customers:

1. They are pre-qualified: If they have ordered from you then you know that they have a need for the particular product or service your business provides. Many products are expendable and will require replacement at some point in the future. Whether you are a printer selling business cards, a shop that offers auto maintenance or a pool service your product or service will be needed again. In the hustle and bustle of busy lives they may forget to reorder from you as soon as they need to. Suppose they consistently run out of business cards through out the year but each time they do they forget to stop by your business to reorder for a few days each time. By the end of the year you may have missed out on an extra order or two that they would have used up had they come in quicker. The same can be true of oil changes or pool filters. Keep reordering as easy as possible. If your business is service related try and book their next appointment each time you complete one. Also remind customers either by mail, email or phone calls when they are due for additional service. With consumable products try and create a link between the current order and the reorder. This can be accomplished with Return Customer coupons or discounts offered for follow up work.

2. They have friends: A customer who is happy with the service they have received will often tell friends about their experience. You can harness this goodwill a bit by providing them a couple of Referral coupons to give to friends.

3. You know who they are: When you get to know a customer you can develop an understanding of their particular needs and idiosyncrasies. From that understanding you develop your personal strategy for working with them. If youre a graphic designer you may discover they dont like a particular font or color. Youve invested time to learn this but you wont waste time trying to sell certain ideas to them again. Each time you communicate with a customer and learn more about them your investment in time with them increases. The goal is to develop these encounters into a relationship which is long term. The better you come to know them and their expectations the easier it will be to work with them on future projects. Each time you work to find a new customer you have to learn another person.

4. You know how to reach them: Bulk mailing and print advertising is like a shotgun and your hope is that somewhere in the spray of information going out you will hit some new customers. Even if your advertising piece reaches the right home or business you then have to hope that it ends up in the hands of the person who either influences decisions or makes them. With previous customers you know who they are, where they are and how to reach them with follow up promotions. Your follow up customer mailings may only be a fraction of the size of a bulk mail run but each piece is precisely aimed at a target which you know needs you.

5. People change: Perhaps your business or service is need by another business. Youve done work for them for sometime but suddenly you dont hear from them. Weeks pass and you wonder what happened. Sometimes the individual you work with simply left the company and didnt leave good information behind for their replacement. Follow up communications and periodic mailings can keep the new guy in the loop and let them know who provides a particular product or service. Most people would rather not have to research a new source but end up having to because they dont know who has been used historically. If a particular customer has a cycle of ordering from you that suddenly stops contact them to see what the problem is. Sometimes people are less than satisfied with a product or service but will not say anything, they just wont come back. If you can make it right and restore their trust you can continue the relationship that you worked so hard to build.

The pursuit of new customers is important for growing your business but dont forget what you have. Maintain your relationships, keep communications going and protect the base of supporters you have worked so hard to build.

Using Barter Can Boost Your Profits & Cut Costs

Post on Aug 26th 2008

Companies of every size and description, from the entrepreneurial startups to multi-national giants, are now acquiring needed goods and services through barter, corporate barter and countertrade. Heres how companies of any size can start to save money by looking for bartering opportunities with their suppliers

Barter Rule #1:

Virtually anything your company pays cash for is a prime candidate for utilizing barter. Start by evaluating every product or service your company buys from the point of view of a barter opportunity.

Could you consider exchanging your companys product or service as payment, or partial payment, to a supplier/vendor? This is direct barter, and involves an agreement between a buyer and seller that all or part of a bill will be paid through trade-in-kind rather than cash.

If you cannot come up with a good fit for direct barter, then explore indirect barter. Its done through an entity called a trade exchange or barter company, where different businesses (usually locally) who are members of the barter company, will buy and sell to one another using a trade dollar. One way to determine what goods and services are available is to look a trade exchanges directory.

Barter Rule #2:

Be sure you fully understand the economics of your own business, and that of suppliers who are potential barter candidates. Unless you do, you could wind up negotiating barter deals that waste company assets. Or, you might turn down a barter endeavor that could be valuable in the mistaken belief that the terms are unfair.

Understanding a suppliers cost breakdown can also help in negotiating a direct partial barter deal. For example, a print shop buys paper and ink for cash, but rarely operates at 100% capacity. This down-time makes no contribution to the printers fixed costs. Therefore, a new customer could negotiate to cover the fixed cost of paper and ink with a cash payment, while the rest of the job would be payable in barter.

Barter Rule #3:

Negotiate only with the company owner or sales manager. A suppliers salesperson is not the person to talk to when desiring a barter arrangement, for two reasons. First, they are not able to make the decision, and second, it would be counterproductive cutting into his/her commission. However, the firms owner or sales manager can understand the value of conserving cash and establishing a long-term relationship based on using barter in the mix.

Then if it makes economic sense, offer a supplier preferred status for agreeing to take partial payment in trade. The strategy for success is to undertake a small transaction first, thus allowing participants to become familiar with how barter can work for them. And then build on that success.

Barter Rule #4:

Keep exact records of barter arrangements on your company books. Make sure at least one person in the accounting department understands exactly how these agreements are to be accounted for, and give that person responsibilityand the necessary toolfor booking them properly.

When you follow these 4 rules you will find that barter can boost your profits and cut costs.

After numerous, profitable barter experiences he sold his business and founded BarterNews in 1980. Business Credit Scores Impact on Business Lending

Post on Aug 25th 2008

For many years consumers have been able to track their ability to borrow money and receive credit from banks and other lending institutions through a system that ranked their creditworthiness on a scale known as a personal credit score. Today businesses have that same option. Several major credit information companies, like Experian, Equifax, Business Credit USA and Dun and Bradstreet now have databases on small businesses all over the country and have developed a business credit scoring system which can allow consumers, suppliers, and other companies to rate the credit of small businesses.

The business credit score will help banks and other lending institutions approve or deny credit as well as determining the level of interest to be paid on all new business loans. The higher the business credit score, the lower the interest rate. The lower the business credit score, the harder it will be for that business to get credit, especially at favorable market rates.

Business will have to self-monitor their business credit score just like consumers have to keep a close watch on their personal financial credit score. If there are bad debts or former bankruptcies on their business credit files they will have to take action or run the risk of being turned for future credit requests. Having a good business credit score will be an important factor that will need their personal attention.

Some businesses, banks and other lending institutions have long had their own business credit scoring systems to rank their business customers and to determine the appropriate level of interest rate to charge them for business loans. In the recent years more and more of these credit grantors have started buying business credit reports from the business credit bureaus.

The business credit bureaus will continue to collect additional information on businesses including their payment history, and other data that they feel is useful to determining a businesss financial health. They bundle these up as company reports and sell them to banks and lending institutions so that they can evaluate business credit requests. Combined with the business credit score they are now much more confident in profiling not only a businesss past credit record but in predicting their future patterns and trends.
