Fantastically Frightening Halloween Partyfood
Post on Aug 13th 2008
Halloween Party Food can be a fun way to pull your next Halloween party together. Children and adults alike will enjoy seeing all of the creative Halloween party food you can come up with. When planning a menu for a Halloween party, be sure to take into consideration the ages of your guests. You do not want to have food that is too scary for younger children.
For an adult party, you could have a witches brew. Since this recipe includes alcohol, make sure it is only served at a party for adults. In a cauldron, mix four, 48 ounce cans of pineapple juice, one 96 ounce bottle of orange juice, four 2 litter bottles of lemon-lime soda, one 1.75 liter bottle of vodka and last but not least one 1.75 liter bottle of rum. You can adjust the measurements according to your particular taste. For added effect, you can add some dry ice to create that steamy, bubbling effect. However, be sure to not eat or drink the dry ice or come in direct contact with it, as it will burn your skin.
Another great Halloween party food is cheese fingers. For this, you will need mozzarella string cheese, green bell peppers and cream cheese. Slice the mozzarella string cheese in half, long ways. With a knife, cut out an area for a fingernail, as well as make some indentations for the joints. Next, take the bell pepper and shape it into fingernail shaped pieces. In order to attach the fingernails to the actual finger, use the cream cheese, which acts like a glue.
For your guests with a sweet tooth, consider making a graveyard cake. For this you will want to bake a cake in a rectangular backing pan. After the cake has cooled, spread crumbled up Oreos over the top of the cake. This is used to resemble the dirt. Next, you will need to add the tombstones. Take oval shaped cream filled cookies and decorate them to look like a headstone. After they are all decorated, place them in the dirt of the cake. Strategically placed gummy worms will finish off the cake.
If you are planning to serve punch at your party, a great way to make it fit in with the Halloween theme is to add floating ice hands. Take plastic gloves, fill with water and freeze. After the water has completely frozen, you can remove it from the gloves and add to your favorite punch. Kids and adults alike will get a kick out seeing a hand floating around in their punch.
When trying to decide what type of Halloween party food to serve, be sure to use your imagination. Every day food can easily be turned into Halloween party food. Generally speaking, the grosser the food looks, the more fun it will be to eat. So the next time you plan a Halloween party, be sure to keep in mind the food for the party. Halloween party food can add that special touch, to an otherwise ordinary party.
