What Can Come From Book Parties Besides Friendly Socializing?

Post on Sep 1st 2008

To the avid partier, one might be very well acquainted with different themes and purposes for entertainment, but few and far between does a crowd connoisseur run into a book party. As an interesting twist to entertaining guests, the versatility offered through holding such an event is astounding. Here are four great reasons to hold such a party:

First and quite possibly the most obvious reason for holding a book party would be to raise funds for a certain cause. Often schools will hold book fairs with much of the same intent; fundraising takes on many different faucets and the most unusual avenues usually draw the best crowds and so can prove to be one of the most successful.

A second motive for holding a book party might be to promote awareness for a particular club: AARP, AAA Travel, or North American Hunting Club as examples. Selecting readings so directed to the views, ideas, and perspectives surrounding the thematic relevance of your organization not only informs others of your purpose and scope but offers up the groups opinions through something that can be taken home for further thought in regards to the group.

Thirdly, book parties offer a way in which readers can embrace and celebrate different generalized themes: Holidays, Religions, Athletics, or Scholastics to name just a few. Similar to club awareness, this aspect invites the opportunity to portray every relevant perspective in an unbiased fashion. In this purpose, the more diverse the perspectives and opinions are, the better a person will be able to consolidate the available information and create and informed opinion of their own. Sharing a common interest, aside from clubbers with an agenda, provides a relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to make an educated conclusion on your stance.

Although these previous reasons have all been of sound motivations, a person truly needs no reason other than the sheer love of reading to hold a book party. The gathering and conversation of friends and family for the sake of socializing is a very admiral prospect.
